About Bali Monkey Rescue

Bali Monkey Rescue (BMR) is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Indonesia dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, welfare and protection of macaques and other primates in need.

Throughout this website, the terms “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Bali Monkey Rescue.

Donations & Sponsorships

General Donations

All donations made to Bali Monkey Rescue are voluntary and non-refundable.

Funds donated to BMR are used where they are needed most and may include:

• veterinary treatment

• food and daily care

• rescue operations

• enclosure maintenance

• medical emergencies

• transport

• staff support

• rehabilitation costs

• general operational expenses

All spending decisions are agreed upon by the Bali Monkey Rescue foundation team.

While donations may sometimes be linked to a particular rescue story or monkey, BMR reserves the right to allocate funds according to the most urgent needs of the rescue centre at the time.

Monthly Sponsorships

By signing up to sponsor a monkey through our website, you agree to a recurring monthly payment.

Sponsors may cancel their subscription at any time through the payment provider used during checkout.

Monthly sponsorship payments are non-refundable once processed.

Sponsorship helps contribute towards the ongoing care, food, enrichment, medical treatment and welfare of the sponsored monkey, as well as supporting the wider work of Bali Monkey Rescue.

Sponsorship does not constitute ownership or exclusive rights over any animal.

Animal Welfare & Rescue Outcomes

Bali Monkey Rescue works in challenging rescue environments and many monkeys arrive with severe physical and psychological trauma.

Although we always strive to provide the highest possible level of care, we cannot guarantee:

• rehabilitation outcomes

• successful socialisation with other monkeys

• long-term medical recovery

• survival in critical medical cases

Some animals may require permanent medical care or individual housing depending on their condition and temperament.
